The Wedding Day and After

“June and Art” concludes with today’s entry, covering over 50 years of shared love between June and Art.  Thanks to all followers and readers who’ve joined us for this celebration of love.

THE WEDDING

June Virginia Anderson and Arthur Werner Price were married at the Methodist Church of Riverhead on September 1, 1951, sixty years ago today.  The Rev. Lawrence Boyle officiated.

A LONG AND HAPPY MARRIAGE

First stop on the honeymoon was New York City where June and Art
enjoyed a carriage ride through Central Park.

While I was staying with my father at a hospice center shortly before his death in 2009, he liked to be surrounded by photographs of his life.  One of the workers commented on the photo of June by his bed.  He said, “I wish you could have met her.  She was the best woman I ever knew.”
